Crystal Faison, President & CEO, Shepherd Design & Construction and Shepherd Energy; Member, Commission on Environmental Justice & Sustainable Communities
Crystal is a designer and construction consultant by trade, as well as an award-winning certified energy specialist and fair housing professional. Her company, Shepherd Energy, is a leading contractor providing energy-efficiency services throughout Maryland and the Washington, DC, area. Crystal lends her expertise to making residential and commercial entities more energy-efficient and to educating the general populace with her expert tips. She is a member of several local and national organizations.
Credidations & Certifications
She has received several awards, including Green Business of the Year from U.S. Senator Benjamin L. Cardin, a Certificate of Congressional Recognition from U.S. Representative Steny Hoyer, and Green Business of the Year from the Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce, as well as a Certificate of Recognition for Environmental Practices from the Maryland General Assembly, among many others. She was appointed by the Governor to Maryland’s Commission on Environmental Justice and Sustainable Communities in 2022. Crystal holds a degree in biology from Virginia State University and a degree in environmental law from the University of Maryland's Francis King Carey School of Law.
